Sebonic Financial did not show up for closing. That's right. No closing because Sebonic did not show up. No communication from Sebonic that this (them not showing up and no closing) was going to happen. Everything was supposed to be set (many weeks in advance). Like...

Dude-

Is this your first mortgage?

Sebonic does not "show up" for closings- a notary (title company/notary) does. If a notary no-showed, blame the mobile notary service, not the bank.

Nobody schedules closings 3 weeks in advance in the mortgage industry. Something is missing here.

Sorry about your bad experience.

Update by user Jan 08, 2014

After the company saw our reviews and contacted us to help fix things they did make sure our appraisal fee was returned to us in full, and apologized for the poor communication. I am leaving the situation feeling better about it.

Sebonic Financial in Melbourne, Florida - Endless delays

6 weeks from date of fist contact and still no mortgage. First the appraiser they send undervalues the size of my home by four hundred square feet, upon re-estimating decides my home is only worth $73/sq foot rather than $77. Then an endless amount of shuffling me from person to person and more and more requests for paperwork. I recently paid my daughter's car off and they want to know where I got the funds. What difference does it make- maybe Santa Claus paid the note off. Because the time has passed on the lock, they wanted to charge me another $400 for origination fees when the delays are because of them. What a waste of $410 for the incompetent appraisal of our home.

I just closed the mortgage. The 40 days experience with Sobonic was horrible. First, they screwed up the address on day one, and we caught it right away, I told them that they have to correct the address immediately before they verify with IRS. They said they did it,...

My exact same situation. Delay, IRS, price hikes, etc. Stay away from these 'used car' salesmen!

Sebonic Financial - Worst Mortgage Experience of My Life!

I have been through the mortgage process many times. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience. Sebonic is unorganized, unresponsive, slow, terrible with communication, and generally rude and discourteous. You get passed from one person to another through the mortgage process. One person doesn't know what the other is doing. We had repeated requests for additional information which every time was provided to them in less than 24 hours. They missed the closing date by a full 14 days! Worse yet, they demanded that we pay a lock extension fee in spite of the fact it was their delays that pushed back the closing date. When I asked to speak to a manager regarding the lock extension fee, I was told in an email (after waiting for a phone call for three days) that he was "too busy to take the time to speak with me." Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I wanted to re-fi my home after finalizing my divorce. I went through Lending Tree and Sebonic was one of the lenders that quoted me a rate. I read a few positive reviews and decided to go with them. Initially the process went smoothly (although they quoted me one...

Business with a loss has to be taken into consideration by a underwriter , nothing they asked for was wrong. I am a MLO with a competitor and we would have asked for the same thing.

I found Sebonic Financial on Bankrate.com. They quoted on the website a rate of 4.375% for a 30 year fixed rate. When I called and spoke to a loan officer (Brad I believe his name was?) he gave me a rate of 4.625%, which is much higher than originally quoted. I have...

Read Bankrate's fine print. Rates are based on various factors but the loan size must be $165,000 for any lender on Bankrate to honor the rate.

Called Sebonic Financial in regards to a mortgage quote on zillow.com. They quoted me something very different than what they were showing on the site. These guys are shady and not to be trusted. Sounds like they just want to charge you for an appraisal and run off...

I got a quote from them thru Lending Tree.

By the way, my money is NOT hard earned, does that make a difference?
